August 17, 2011 A FedEx Boeing 727-200F landed on runway 14 at the former Clinton County Airport, and current home of PAI, on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Since 2000, FedEx has donated 45 of its Boeing 727 aircraft to various organizations and communities. “As we retire N279FE from our fleet, we are proud to give back to the aviation community, “said David P. Sutton, Managing Director of Aircraft Acquisitions and Sales for FedEx. “The donation of this aircraft is just one example of the many ways that FedEx supports training and other education initiatives.” According to Dr. Barry Mack, Division Director of the Champlain Valley Technical Education Center (CV-TEC), "This tremendous donation will enable current and future PAI students to receive the technical training required of companies like Laurentian Aerospace. We are proud to receive a gift that will help prepare our Technician Candidates for the challenges of the 21st century." Congressman Bill Owens, State Senator Betty Little, Assemblywoman Janet Duprey and Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward were in attendance and provided remarks at the FedEx Landing Event and Donation Ceremony.
