Aviation Technology

Aviation has been a large part of Greater Plattsburgh, NY since the 1950s and continues to grow and expand with the expansion of the Plattsburgh International Airport and training programs such as the Champlain Valley Technical Education Center (CV-TEC). Plus, incentives such as reduced landing fees are a large draw--only 10 to 20 percent of the typical $5,000 to $10,000 at other airports.

 

Success Stories

• Laurentian Aerospace is currently working to complete financing for its planned $175 million maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility for large-body jets at the Plattsburgh International Airport. Clinton County is excited about the growth Laurentian Aerospace will have in the coming years and in the aerospace maintenance market.
• CV-TEC is the premier provider of career and technical education in the region. In response to anticipated local and state-wide business and industry training needs, and in response to the Clinton County Legislature’s efforts to expand the industrial scope of the Plattsburgh International Airport, CV-TEC has developed an Aviation Technology Program.
