Lake Placid

There are also a large number of competitive and recreational athletic events such as road and bike races and triathalons seasonally. For instance, Lake Placid annually hosts one of only five IronMan triathalon events in the continental U.S. In addition, over 1,500 anglers and coanglers come to Plattsburgh each year to compete in numerous bass tournaments on Lake Champlain.
